This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for Legend of the Otaku (www.legendoftheotaku.com) ("the Site"). This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website. You may be accessing our Site from a computer or mobile phone device (through an iPhone or iPad application, for example) and this Privacy Policy governs your use of our Site regardless of the means of access. We also like to interact with you on third party sites where we post content or invite your feedback, including sites such as www.facebook.com, www.twitter.com, www.patreon.com and www.instagram.com ("Third Party Sites"). This Privacy Policy covers all collection, use and disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information, whether through the Site or otherwise. It will notify you of the following:

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g. to ship an order.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Cookies

We use a limited number of "cookies" from Google Analytics on our website. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, a cookie would help us identify whether a person accessing the site had accessed it previously (i.e. was a unique visitor) and tell us which country they're accessing from (it's actually pretty cool how many people around the world are checking out our game). However, your privacy is very important to us and usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site. Your PII and Non-PII may be stored, transferred to, and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers, and by using our products and services, you consent to the processing and transfer of information to countries outside of your country of residence, including the United States, which may have different data protection rules than in your country. Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information from our users (i.e. there's no need). However, if we enable account creation functionality or other features involving sensitive information (i.e. accepting payment card information), we will upgrade the site to accept encrypted communications via SSL and/or TLS.

Note Regarding the Use of the Site by Children

The Site is not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18), and we request that such individuals not provide Personally Identifiable Information through the Site. If you are under 18 years of age, you may browse our Site; however, you may not provide PII to us such as registering or making a purchase. If we discover that a person under the age of 18 has registered on the Site, we will delete such registration. If you are under 18 and want to make a purchase, please ask a parent or guardian to place the order for you.

YOUR CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS

If you are a resident of California, you have the right under the California "Shine the Light" law (Cal. Civil Code § 1798.83) to request, by regular or electronic mail, a list of the categories of personal information that were shared by our website with third parties for direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, the names and addresses of those third parties, and if the nature of their business cannot reasonably be determined from their name, examples of the products and services marketed by them. For these reasons, our website is not required to respond further to California customer inquiries under the California Shine the Light law.

Surveys & Contests

From time-to-time our site requests information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

Do Not Track

You have the ability to enable your browser settings to "Do Not Track." Doing this sends a signal to websites, ad networks and plug-in providers about your browsing preferences. The Site does not currently respond to the Do Not Track browser signal.
